It’s Black Friday and The Summer Set are not afraid!

November 27th, 2009

the summer set love like thisThe Summer Set are in Atlanta today celebrating Black Friday and hopefully getting some good shopping in! They’re currently on the road with Cartel and Feed The Beat alumni This Providence and current Feed The Beat bands Runner Runner and The Dares. We caught up with the band recently and they told us how excited they are about being part of Feed The Beat. We’re honored to have them in the lineup! The Summer Set just released their first full-length album, Love Like This, on October 13, 2009, on Razor & Tie. Produced by Matt Grabe (The Maine, A Rocket to the Moon, Greeley Estates), the new album features lead off single, “Chelsea,” written for actress Chelsea Staub. You can hear “Chelsea” in the Feed The Beat player.

Forever The Sickest Kids halftime show

FTSK will join other current Universal Motown artists during Halftime of the Detroit Lions/Green Bay Packers game in covering songs from the Detroit based Motown Records. After the performance, fans can download the medley at www.nfl.com/thanksgiving. Proceeds will benefit the United Way. The real question remains could FTSK’s beat The Lions in a football game? For those of you not into sports, tune into FOX around 1:30pm EST as the first half should be winding down.

Thanks from Stereo Skyline

November 25th, 2009

Flattery will get you everywhere and when Long Island’s Stereo Skyline sent us this video we started blushing. We thought they took a really creative approach to thanking us and wanted to share it with you. Stereo Skyline is currently on tour with Feed The Beat Alumni bands The White Tie Affair and Every Avenue! To see them in a city near you, click here.

Stereo Skyline is a three-piece, power-pop band based out of Long Island, NY. The band consists of Kevin Bard (lead vocals/ guitar), Brian Maddox (bass), and Rob Michelsen (drums). Through catchy melodies and heartthrob lyrics, the band has found themselves growing nationally into teen hearts as well as onto their myspace pages. “If we are having fun singing it, you should have fun hearing it” says Kevin. “There is just too much negative music floating around.”

Comic Book Heroes make the cut!

November 20th, 2009

Feed The Beat recently caught up with the guys in Comic Book Heroes and hand delivered their Taco Bell Bucks! We talked about them being from the same town as Taylor Swift (Wyomissing, PA) and surviving the paparazzi near the Starbucks that Kate Gosselin frequents (also lives in the same town). The guys were generous enough to make a nice little video for Feed The Beat and we wanted to share it with you.

Ned, Collin, Steve and Steve Koz will be in Los Angeles this Sunday playing the official post party of the American Music Awards! Check out Comic Book Heroes song “Catch Me If You Can” in the Feed The Beat music player and follow the guys on Twitter @comicbookheroes

Comic Book Heroes came together when they were just 11 yrs old to perform for a school talent show. By the time they reached 7th grade they landed their first monthly house gig and started writing originals; self-releasing their first EP in March 2006. Since that time, CBH has emerged as one of the most promising young rock bands. We are very excited to have them in the 2009 Feed the Beat lineup!

Exclusive: Evan Taubenfeld – Razorblade Limeade Live Video

November 19th, 2009

If you’ve listened to Avril Lavigne’s multi-platinum albums, you’re already familiar with the musical talent of Evan Taubenfeld. The 25-year-old Baltimore native was Lavigne’s musical director and lead guitarist from 2001 to 2004. He co-wrote several tracks on her last two albums, including the gold single “Don’t Tell Me” from Under My Skin and “Hot” from her latest release, The Best Damn Thing, and toured the world with her in support of her 6x-platinum debut Let Go.

Now Taubenfeld — a multi-instrumentalist who has also written and produced music for such up-and-coming artists as rapper Tyga, hip-hop group The Pack, and Japanese pop group Oreskaband, as well as for several MTV shows including Kaya and Pageant Place — is stepping out to show the world what he can do on his own by releasing his debut solo album, Welcome to the Blacklist Club. Produced by John Fields (Jonas Brothers, Switchfoot, Lifehouse), the album is a self-assured set of thoroughly addictive, radio-ready pop-rock anthems that showcase Taubenfeld’s melodic gifts, driving rhythmic sensibility, and engaging personality.
